Default orange chicken

I need a good recipe for this. I've found it's something my pouch likes and so far the only way to get it is going for chinese food.

Default So good, but....

I love orange chicken too. It is so hard to avoid but a lot of orange chicken is heavly breaded and it is friend. I don't think it would be a bad idea to treat your self once in awhile. I do believe Albertsons has orange chicken and it doesn't have all the bread on it like most chinese food places. If you find out any good orange chicken recipes please pass them along.

After all... I AM the recipe queen!.....

2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

1/2 cup chicken broth
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate

Heat the shortening in a skillet over medium-high heat. In a bowl, mix the flour, condensed soup, seasoned salt, pepper, and salt. Dip chicken in the mixture to coat, and fry in the skillet until golden brown.
Place chicken in a slow cooker. Mix the chicken broth, brown sugar, and orange juice concentrate in a bowl, and pour over chicken in the slow cooker.
Cover, and cook 2 to 3 hours on Low or 1 to 2 hours on High. Of course I need to add to try and use organic chicken and make sure you wash it thoroughly and pat it dry before coating. I love it hope you do too!

Don't appologize to me! LOL.... I'm not one for scrimping when it comes to food. I'd rather spend the extra, know what I'm getting, where it came from, and what exactly is in it.

Robin this sounds great....does the brown sugar or the orange juice concentrate make you dump??? I am dying to try this and so far a few grams haven't hurt me.

Default Easy Orange Chicken Stir-fry

Easy Orange Chicken Stir-fry

INGREDIENTS:

* 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1-inch cubes
* Marinade:
* 2 tablespoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
* 1 tablespoon cornstarch
* Sauce:
* 1/3 cup orange juice*
* 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon sesame oil
* 1 teaspoon brown sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon chile paste
* 1 clove garlic, minced
* 1 slice ginger, minced
* Oil for stir-frying, as needed

PREPARATION:
Place the cubed chicken in a bowl, and add the marinade ingredients. Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes.

While the chicken is marinating, prepare the sauce ingredients and the garlic and ginger.

Heat the wok and add oil. When oil is ready, add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry until aromatic.

Add the chicken and stir-fry until it changes color. Push up to the sides of the wok, making a well in the middle. Add the sauce.

Combine the sauce and the chicken. Stir-fry for another minute and serve hot.

*If you find the orange flavor too overpowering, try substituting a combination of orange juice and water to make 1/3 cup.
