Anyone have a chocolate chip cookie recipe?
My kids are dying to make cookies this year for christmas and I am in panic as I am so new out of surgery. I found lots of recipes made with splenda but they all have the brown sugar in the them. Anyone have any ideas on a good christmas cookie recipe that I could do with the kids?

Splenda makes a half/half brown sugar substitute or white sugar substitute.
I have found that cookies don't come out right with using substitutes. I just bake the old fashioned way and only eat one or two cookies, the rest is shared.

Thanks guys I will look for the brown sugar in splenda.
Marie, I am too afraid of sugar to try the old fashion way. By Christmas I will only be a little over a month out and sugar just scares me..LOL

Sugar scares me too. Yesterday I had one Bottle Cap candy and was terrified. I'll gradually increase the sugar I try, because I don't want to become dependent on artificial sweetners. We all know they can't be that good for us. But for now... Splenda is my friend!

WOW your even braver then me. I don't even like splenda very much. I would only use it in cooking, haven't tried it yet though. I have tried it in my hot tea and can't stand the after taste. So I just do the sugar free stuff or don't add nothing. I look forward to the day I can use a pinch of sugar here and there but for now I will stay a chicken.
How far out are you Robin?

5 weeks. Don't deprive yourself too much though. You'll start to get depressed.

So your about 3 weeks ahead of me. Are you pretty lucky with your eating, I mean by that do you generally eat "normal" yet? I get concerned because I basically live on SF ice pops and water and today I am trying again some SF hot cocoa. My dietician says I should stay on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and should move to pureed food for another 2 weeks after that then mushy stuff and it will not be till January till I can actually eat "normal" food.

All the doctors and dieticians have different ideas. By 10 days I was on soft foods. Scrambled eggs, refried beans, things like that. Now I eat just about anything, except raw veggies, doughy breads, and a few other things. I've had a few problems learning when I had enough. I'd eat one bite too much and have to vomit. That happened twice. And I dumped twice. But since then, things have been fine. Are you having broth? You can try things like Won Ton broth, Albondigas broth. Cream soups, SF Fudgsicles.... those are all liquid, so is yogart. Unless it was Clear liquids. Good luck sweetheart!

Your one lucky duck. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks then full liquids now but to be honest I was on a clear liquid diet 10 days before surgery and I have to eat anything else that is made of liquid I will vomit. I have eaten so much broth, cream soups, yougurt and stuff I just can't even stand to look at them. They make me gag, so I am doing the best I can. I have snuck a scrambled egg..I ate half of it and it tasted so yummy..Went down great and didn't have a problem with it, I also have done the refrien beans but can only like a mouse size of them. Most days I am good with my water and 2 SF popsicles a day. I have had one dumping episiode and it was totally my fault, I ate a little piece of bread when making my kids lunch and I will never do that again. I think I am doing alright, it was rough for a bit but I think my body has ajusted to my liquid diet now and I am pretty comfortable. Thanks for the support
