Homemade Protein bars??
any recipes for protein bars? I've tried searching but I can't find any, I would buy protein bars but they're way too expensive because they're imported and there's only one place who sells them.
could I use ensure to make them? I have an entire can and I wouldn't make it drink form, it just makes me gag, or does anyone have any ideas on how to use the ensure?

Make an Ensure smoothie. There's also a protein bar recipe I food on food network..... http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._31336,00.html. You may have to play with the sugar content to your tolerance. I haven't tried tp make them. Looked good on TV.

If you come up with a good homemade one please let me know. I can't find any I like and they are pretty darn expensive here too. If you do the Food Network one maybe you could try using Splenda in place of sugar? it is suppose to measure equally. I'm don't know much about the metric system but if you need help converting any recipes just let me know and I'll try to help you out!

Protein recipes
Good idea - making protein bars and also shakes!! Go to www.recipezaar.com and type "protein" in the search area. You will get a lot of ideas - the first one was a protein pancake!
I don't know if I would have thought of looking for protein-rich recipes without your post - thanks!!!

Hey any of you guys with great ideas please let's get this thread going. My kids hate the over the counter protein bars (and so do I!!) they are so waxy and flavorless!!
Iwould love to get a thread going with you guys who have tried the protein bar recipes, and lets get some cool good ideas going that can be made at home!!!!
I need ideas, recipes, and input! Who knows maybe we are onto something for post WLS people who are having the same experiences!!
