I tried these tonight and my family raved about them. They ate them in some pita bread garnished with the sauce, red pepper and fat free crumbled feta cheese.

I just took the meat balls, put some sauce on them then garnished with the feta and red pepper. DELICIOUS!!

A very easy recipe that I think is worth making again.

That kind of depends on how big you make your meatballs. 1 pound of meat makes 6 servings. For me a serving was 3 meatballs.

Mmmm, this sounds delicious Beth! You always post the best recipes.

I've been craving a gyro. I got a chicken gyro from a restaurant recently, but skipped the pita. (Okay, I lie...I have a couple of bites of it. ) But, it just didn't taste right, and the craving is still there.

I'm going to try making these. Do you think I could substitute the half & half with milk or soy milk? I don't normally buy that.

I would think so Sherry. I actually used the fat free half-n-half for this. It really just moistens the meatballs so I'm sure either soy or milk woud work just fine.

Laura, a gyro is a traditional greek sandwich. It is usually made with a lamb and a yogurt/cucumber dressing.
