Default God Bless Paula Deen for Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies!

Borrowed from another WL site:

God Bless Paula Deen for Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies!

1 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla
1 cup Splenda

Mix and roll into balls (about walnut sized) and flatten with fork dipped in Splenda. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.

TIPS
-Do NOT overcook -- they will get crumbly since there's no gluten
-Peanut butter is naturally low sugar - the low sugar kind only reduces it by 1g per serving.

The fat?

I'm guessing that recipe is going to make somewhere around 15 cookies. That'd work out at around 9-10g of fat per cookie.

No problem if you know that you can look on them as an occasional treat - unfortunately, I can't.

If there were gold medals being dished out at the olympics for cookie eating - I'd win gold every time.

It's all about making wise choices (as Claire would say) - I just can't be trusted to have them in the house - they just keep calling to me! LOL

Let me know how they turn out - I can dream!

OMG! Thanks for alerting us Corrine. I think I would have eventually realized this by the time I assembled the ingredients and looked at the peanut butter label, but by then I would have been CRAVING them.

I think I'd rather pass on these. Sorry everyone!

You don't have to be sorry Sherry. They're not bad cookies - but they're cookies! The original devil food.....or is that M&M's! lol

If you know that you can restrict yourself to the odd treat then it's fine. But speaking for myself - I didn't arrive at this point in my life because I was eating bad things. I just ate too much of them and ate them too often.

So! Cookies are are a no go area for me (along with peanut M&M's) purely because I can't have just one.

Default Update to add Beth's link

Beth posted about a lower fat peanut butter powder Lower fat peanut butter

There look to be a lot of low fat cookie recipes there.

I made these this weekend for some company we had over, trying to be a good host without having to buy any ingredients I didn't want to keep in the house (like sugar and flour).

This recipe is originally listed as 1 cup of sugar (in the cookbook). For splenda I don't think this should be a full cup as these as incredibly sweet. Even my dog refused to eat a second bite. I am going to do some tinkering with the amount but thought I would let you know.
