Thumbs up Homemade Beef Jerky

Homemade Beef Jerky

2 lbs. ¼ inch sliced, slightly thawed sirloin beef

¼ cup soy sauce

2 crushed garlic cloves

½ tsp. ground ginger

2 tsp. Splenda

1 tsp. salt



Put the meat into a ziploc bag and add the marinade. Put in refrigerator and forget about it for a few days (or at least overnight).



Drain bag of liquid and place on dehydrator trays for 6 – 8 hours. OR, place strips of meat on a rack (with a tray to catch drips) in a slow oven – 200 degrees, with the door ajar. Seal in a ziploc bag.

Sandi,

Thanks for the yummy recipe. Do you have a dehydrator?? I don't but should probably invest in one. Although Sam'd clucb has the best price on jerky right now....(3) 4 oz. bags for 7 bucks!!

Hey Karen,
No, we don't have a dehydrator, but I've been wanting to get one for years!!! John is a beef jerky fanatic though, unless it's super fresh, he won't touch it, he knows his jerky!! LOL
I thought if I could make some, it would be just about as fresh as it comes and it would save some money. We're gonna try it, I'll let ya know!!!
