Just tried my version of these; I used Italian breading, low-fat string cheese and 1 regular beaten egg...and they were crunchy and ooey-gooey too! Added some spaghetti sauce for dipping..very, very filling!

Thanks Beth!

Cathy

PS- they were not as "healthy" as Beth's...but tasted great and I was only able to eat 1/2 the alloted amount.

The fact that they were NOT FRIED cancels out the italian breadcrumbs in my book!

Default Thank youuuuu

Spending a lazy Sunday looking through some recipes since I'm having trouble eating right now. This sounds heavenly and I'm def going to try it. I know this is really old but wanted to bump it up for all us newbies.

WOW, thanks Vicki..and Beth.

I already went shopping today, but I am definitely going to try this out.

I'm not much of a cook....I suck at it. I gained my weight eating out.

But I feel like these are doable and will meet my protein needs also!!

I made these yesterday and my little girl loved em. Mine didnt quite look like the picture, since most of the cheese oozed out,and my breading wasn't all that crunchy or brown, but overall they had a good taste. Gonna have to experiement with this to get the coating a little more done before the cheese is to done. I like the mozerella string cheese and doing them this way doesn't had that much more calories, but makes you think you are having the forbidden.
Thanks for the recipe!!

I made these tonight and they were good. I'm going to try them next time with Colby Jack cheese sticks as I prefer them to mozzarella, but they were yum! I used Special K Protein Plus cereal, cause that's what I had on-hand. Crumbs had a sweet smell too them, but wasn't bad tasting.
