Default Experimenting with Fage yogurt

OK I tried something new with my Fage yogurt tonight and I think I just discovered a new love.

First of all if any of you haven't tried fage yogurt you don't know what you are missing. The 2% fat version is protein packed and thick and creamy. It has 17 grams of protein, 8 grams sugar, 130 calories and 4 grams of fat in a serving. There is also a 0% fat version that has 13 grams of protein, 6 grms sugar, 0 grams fat, 80 calories. It isn't quite as thick but still very creamy.

Well tonight this is what I did with it.

1 carton 2% fage (greek) yogurt
Splenda to taste
1/4 package sf instant lemon pudding
a handful of fresh blueberries (about 1/4 cup)
1 tbsp butter toffee flavor almonds

Nutritional facts:
220 calories
7 grams fat
11 grams sugar (from fruit and yogurt)
18 grams protein

This was so thick!! I'm playing around with taking a graham cracker crust and making a pie out of this concoction. Would probably use 4 of the fage yogurts and 1 box of pudding, sprinkle the almonds on top and put a few blueberries on top too.

Hmmmm...maybe this is what I will take to my support group instead.

Cathy, I get it at a regular grocery store in the area (Meijers) but I know that it can be hard to find. I find it in the yogurt section but near the specialty yogurts, like soy yogurt. I have heard that people have found it at Trader Joes. It is basicly Greek yogurt which is strained yogurt. That is why it is so thick and creamy. It has the flavor of sour cream and can be used instead of sour cream but when you add in fruit, splenda, crystal light, etc...it takes on a sweet flavor. It's pretty versatile.

Here is a link to the Fage site for further info and recipes.

*LOL* Naaaa...I just hunt around the internet for good recipes. I really can't take credit for them. I've just found a few good sources online for low fat, sugar free recipes, so I share.
