  1. Swimcheryl, I feel a little behind also and I still have my thyroid . I'm not going to get discouraged. I went for my 4 month post op and Im down 57 lbs. I think that is a great accomplishment for me ( yes Im tooting my own horn, lol)
  2. Congratulations Ladies. You are my inspiration! I hit the 50 lbs lost today!! I'm so happy and excited. I feel great! Hope everyone's weekend is fantastic!
  3. Thank you Ladies for your kind words and encouragement. I truly appreciate you!!
  4. I agree, it has been hard learning how to eat differently. I throw up alot also. Im glad Im not the only one. Im trying really hard not to be offended but its just not sitting well with me. I really try not to discuss weight issues with anyone but my family and people on this site (people I know will be supportive), especially people who have never had a problem with weight because they really don't understand unless they've been there. Its something very personal and its a really sensitive subject with me. Thank you for the advice.
  5. Hi Ladies, I had my 6 week check up yesterday and everything is going great according to my Nurse practitioner. She did say that one of the reasons I'm having trouble with the solids could be that I'm eating too big of a bite or not chewing my food enough or the solids I'm eating are too dry. She said chicken is a really dry meat. That made alot of sense to me since I eat alot of chicken so I thought I would share. Also, I have to vent a little. A very good friend of mine told me the first time she saw me after my surgery, " I can really see the loss in your face, now you're going to get all wrinkly" and then another day she told me she wanted to lose her belly (which she really doesn't have one to lose, #skinnypeopleproblems, lol) and I told her "ya me too" and she said "but you did it the easy way". Im sorry but i really don't think that struggling with my weight for 20+ years and trying every diet on the planet is doing it the easy way. I know she wasn't trying to be mean or hateful so maybe I'm just being too sensitive. What do you guys think?
  6. Good Morning Ladies, Hope everyone is well. I'm great. I've lost 44lbs and feel wonderful. Still having a problem with keeping my solids down but its a learning process so I'm not going to stress on it. Congrats to all of you!! Keep going strong!
  7. Yeah I started taking my presription again. I had a Hiatal Hernia that the Dr fixed so I was really hoping I wouldn't have to take it anymore but I guess I still do. Oh well, its beats puking. Cheryl, I tried a packet of the egg drop soup from the grocery store and it was pretty good.
  8. Ok, I have to share.... I have woke up in the middle of the night twice since my surgery with my mouth watering and haveing to run to the bathroom to throw up bright yellow nasty tasting mucasy bile. (sorry so graphic) . Anyone else have this happen to them? Kristy
  9. I felt the same until I actually started eating them. Its not as easy as you would think. I hope it goes very smoothly for you!
  10. Hi Ladies, My update is pretty much the same. I went back to cream soup, sf pudding and yogurt. I have the same problem with too solid or dry foods eatingsmoke. It just sits in my throat and eventually comes back up. Having trouble with the protein, it doesn't taste good and its hard to get down. But everything is moving along great. Im down 31lbs and feeling really good. The only way I could be happier is if I could lose 20lbs a day. lol. I went back to work on June 23rd. I haven't had a problem at all but I work in an office so i didn't expect any. Hope all is well with everyone! Kristy
  11. Hi all, I had my 2 week post op appt yesterday and my Doctor said I was doing extremely well. I was able to move up to soft foods so I made some extra lean loose hamburger meat (which is on my list of things I can eat). I had 2 small bites and it sat like a rock in my tummy until it came back up. Today I tried some bean soup and it hasn't come back up but it feels like its in my throat and I had like 3 teaspoons. BUT Im not complaining because I got to eat FOOD, Not liquid. I will keeping trying until I get it right. Princess, I have not had any fatigue issues. I have a lot more energy and my family says I am just happier. lol Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
  12. Hi Princess, Welcome. How did your surgery go? how are you feeling now? Eatingsmoke, Im sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. I hope it gets better for you. What does your doctor say? I just got back from my post op Dr. appt and he is really happy with my loss and that I'm doing so well. He reassured me that I was doing great and to be thankful I am one of the lucky ones that doesn't have trouble with getting in the fluids, proteins and such. Kristy
  13. Hi Ladies, I'm glad to see everyone progressing. I am actually doing extremely well and that worries me. I don't have a problem getting the liquids down and I feel like I could eat more solid foods and I do get hungry. It scares the crap out of me because I don't want to fail. I put in my food intake in my fitness pal and I am only eating about 480 calories and I've been riding my bike for 30-60 min everyday and it says that burns 459 calories so my calories are 21. I am just so scared of failure. I don't want to be hungry. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I feel so good I just wish I wasn't as hungry as I am. I know I'm whining but hopefully you guys will understand.
  14. Thank you Jolls. I never thought of the nerves. Congrats on all your loss!!
  15. I felt the same way the day of and the day after my surgery. I really feel good now. Even now my body would rather have anything but plain water.maybe try real cold or warm water and see if that makes a difference. Congrats!!!!!
