  1. I'll be 4 years out in November. The day of surgery I weighed in at 315 and I currently weigh 141 and I'm 5'8. In December I was diagnosed with Graves disease so that was making me lose weight but it's under control now so no more weight loss. I'm don't measure my food but still can't eat much. I'm also a vegetarian so it's harder for me to get in my protein.
  2. Sleep medication?

I was 3 years out in November and just diagnosed with Graves' disease. I have a lot of trouble sleeping as well. I was prescribed Trazodone and Ativan to take for my insomnia and it works wonders Good luck
  3. I started at 310 and am currently down to 141. I have a few pics of my arms before and can take some now if you want. I don't have much skin except for my stomach but it's not bad at all. I was fortunate.
  4. "YOUR TOOOO 'SKINNY' NOW....STOP!"

The older men at my work like to shout loud and tell me that "I need to eat a cheeseburger" or "if I turn sideways, Ill disappear ". I don't let it get to me.
  5. Graves Disease and GB

Hi everyone! I am so extremely proud of myself for being able to keep my weight off when everyone told me I would basically fail. I started this journey at 310lbs the day of surgery and today, I weighed in at 144. I went to my primary 2 months ago because I was exhausted, wasn't eating and literally couldn't keep my eyes open at work. They did the normal exam and ran every blood work test, 3 days later they called and said it was imperative I get into an endocrinologist immediately. I went and was put on Tapazole for a month, it helped a bit but then they wanted me to have the radioactive iodine uptake test. Well, I do infact have Graves Disease. My dr was originally concerned because with being 3 years out, I lost 27lbs in 6 months. Has anyone else had thyroid issues after surgery? Or does anyone have Graves and can shed any light on it for me? Thank you in advance :-)

  7. What to expect pain wise

I'm not going to lie- the pain was awful but I had open bypass. About 1-3 hours after I was put into room, they had me get out of the bed- on my own, that was the hardest thing to do. Knowing now what I went through, I still would do it again in a heartbeat and I'm 3 years out in November.
  8. Not eating

Thanks everyone! Ya it's been about 3 weeks now where literally nothing at all tastes good, so then I don't want to eat it. It's harder for me to because I'm a vegetarian. I may call my surgeon In a week if it doesn't get better Thanks for all the comments/advice
  9. Not eating

Hi everyone! I will be 3 years out in November and lately, nothing sounds or tastes good to eat. I barely eat at all and when I do, it just a few bites. I finally hit my goal weight and I'm still losing. I'm afraid that by not eating, I'm going to keep losing and it won't be healthy. Any help or advice would be much appreciated Kelli
  10. 5 day test

Is this almost the same as the liver reduction died we had to do before surgery?
  11. I had my surgery 11/2011 and have lost 171lbs. I would get a migraine about 3 times a week and a headache daily. For about 8 months up until last month, not a headache or migraine. Now, my husband and I are trying to have a baby so I was taken off if topomax, lorazepam and zoloft. I did horrible with the zoloft withdrawal, I had to go back on it. Is there anyone out there that is similar? I need to help my headaches, I can barely function. Thanks, Kelli
  12. SKIN BREAKOUT

I take them all and had my surgery 2 years ago. They are safe.
  13. I love love love The Limited jeans. My all time favorite.
  14. Gastric Bypass & PCOS

I had my surgery 11/2011 and had PCOS ever since I was in middle school. I went on birth control to help the symptoms. After surgery I had the mirena put in so I wasn't sure if I still had it. I had the mirena taken out last November because my husband and I are trying to have a baby. My periods are like clock work, every 28 days. No cramps, but I still have hair growth. My dr tested my bloodwork In January and I have no signs of it.
  15. Ovary Pain/PCOS post-op

I had PCOS since age 15. My surgery was 11/2011. I haven't gained a single pound back. I got married in sept 2013 and had my mirena out in November 2013. I got my first period on my own this January. My ob send me for bloodwork and from all that she said I have no signs of PCOS :-) now. We're trying for a baby :-)
