  1. Well, all i can say is that its definitely been a learning experience. I've had great support but also a lot of emotions to work through. So, after 1 year and 98lbs (give or take breakfast... lol) here are some "before and afters" to show people that as long as you stick with it and dont let the haters get you down... you will also reach a point (goal or not) where you can be proud of everything you've done!
  2. **I also posted this in the Reconstructive section but wanted to put it out there to everyone as well... ** I'm down to my goal weight and was just wondering if anyone who has had bypass with Tricare also had follow up plastic surgery through them and what sort of rules they had. I've looked on their web page and cant find anything about reconstructive surgery after weightloss surgery. Any tips? I've heard you have to maintain your goal weight for a year before you can do the lifts and tucks part, I was seeking some confirmation on that from someone who has been there already...

  4. What I love seeing in your updates is the growing happiness on your face. Congratulations to you on your continued success and keep up the GREAT work! YAY!
  5. Holy WOW! You're gorgeous! Such a great job! Keep it up!
  6. Thank you very much! I do try to moisturize! lol! I very much appreciate all the kind words an support! Hopefully I can be just as supportive to some of you!
  7. I have some on my feet that werent affected, but the one on my (super) low abdomen has become a little... wrinkley(?) unless i'm suckin' it in hardcore... LOL. I want to get the one on my lower back added to and I was a rib piece, but I'm going to wait until all the weight is finally done.
  8. Thank you all SO MUCH for your lovely comments! I hope that by posting my pics I can give a little peace of mind to those people who are stressed about stalls because I was there once too! Believe you can do it! BIG HUGS TO EVERYONE!!!
  9. So I've been on this forum for a while and have chatted with a few people, posted some thoughts and concerns... but I haven't posted any pics yet... So today's the day! Here are my before and afters! Started at 244 now 158! Finally feel confident enough to open up and show you all my journey...
  10. I just found Ocean Spray Cran-Cherry Limeade and Cran-Pomegranate Tea packets at the commisary on base here. THEY. ARE. INCREDIBLE! The tart of the cranberry overshadows any lingering aftertaste of the sweetener and its very tastey. I dont much care for straight cranberry juice because its so dry tasting and leaves me thirstier, but these mixes are just right for me! I gave up soda to help my step daughter also give up soda. The only time I've had it post-op was a flat sprite when my stomach was upset and that has always helped. I dont much care for the bubbles anymore...
  11. Crystal- I understand where you're coming from COMPLETELY! I dated my high school sweety for 7 years. He was a drug addict, alcoholic, and over all selfish birdbrain. I was too self concious to believe that anyone else "would love me the way he did"... (thank goodness no one ever has!!) Dont rush things with "what if" just let things progress the way they should. Take the time to let him get to know you and for you to know him as well and you'll be able to tell where his heart is. (obvious creepers aside, most men aren't going to ditch someone they're connected to because you put on some weight) I wish you much luck on your journey and I promise you there is someone out there who will love EVERYTHING about you!
  12. the Quest Bars are good but they're really dense unless you heat them up like it says on the packaging. I cant finish 1/2 of one unless I heat it up, and I'm 6 months out. These seem to be the all around faves on this forum. You have to order them online or, if you're lucky, your local GNC has them. The GNC near me has only just started to look into carrying them. I do recommend ordering a sample box from their website so you can try which flavors you prefer the most (so far my faves are from the new ones- coconut cashew and the lemon bar) My favorite travel-able bars are Pure Protien 20g of protein and ~3 grams of sugar. I can take them in my purse and you can grab them at any Walgreens and sometimes even a circle K has them in a pinch. Just my suggestions though. Happy hunting!
  13. I second (fourth, 12th... ) everyone here! You're absolutely fabulous in that dress! You're doing amazing! Totally jealous of those LEGS!
  14. @jb2334: ME TOO! My husband has literally made a game out of it. He'll hide the scale somewhere in the house and then on sunday give me a clue and I cant weigh in until I find it! I used to be an everyday-er myself, but my loss patterns are more on the bi-weekly... I'll stall for 2 weeks then at the end of it I'll be down 5 lbs.
  15. I am an occasional stomach sleeper, but I was in the recliner for 2 weeks when I came home. I couldn't extend fully to lay flat and laying on my sides stretched my incisions, so I was sleeping with a froggy pillow pet and a stack of other pillows in the recliner chair. When I was able to finally sleep in the bed, I had to keep a pregnancy pillow under my belly if I was sleeping on my side, or a pillow under my knees to keep my back from getting too sore. Everyone is different, but give it time and my advice is to not push it! Best of luck!
