Default I did well

Ive had it every year since WLS (for the most part). Just go on it more than ever aware of your eating habits. I havnt gained weight on it at all. BUT, when I eat crap I gain weight, when I go back to a sensible diet I lose it without a problem.

I just had the shot last Tuesday....so far so good. I asked about the weight gain and my docotr said with my diet, I shouldn't gain weight. I am three weeks post op. I will say I have stalled this week, but i really dont think it has to do with my shot.

Wink

I had my surgery in Feb. 2009. I have lost 86 pounds. Since last July my BF and I have not been intimate. He says that he does not want to risk me getting pregnant ....while I am so newly Post-Op and losing weight. He has Spina Bifida...that might be a factor as to why he does not want to do things, right? I am not totally sure, but I think more often that not he wears protective undergarments. Could be another reason. I love him so much....and I hope you don't think I am picking on him. I'm not.

I am on depo-provera and don't have any probs with weight gain. As long as you are careful with what you eat, you should have no problems.

Still pre op and I've been on depo for over 2 years. I was wondering the same thing.

I had the shot before, during, and after my surgery... I've had it 3 times now, or for 9 months... I had no stalls or weight gain.... my weight loss for each month was abuot the same and average for me. my biggest problem with the shot is the fertility issue... I switched BC because i want to be able to get pregnant when i want, and not have to wait 2-18 months for my fertility to return. I am 25, in a relationship, and marriage is about 1-1/2 years away, with baby making sometime after that... My goal was to working on the getting pregant issue around my 28th birthday. I didn't want to be on the shot until i get married, and then not be able to plan well for a baby.... 2-18 months is a loooong time spread.... 2 months is too soon, 18 is too long!

If you can tolerate the shot well, might i suggest the Implanon implant? It's a small plastic rod that goes in your arm for 3 years... I'm writting a topic about it now....

I've had nothing but problems on the shot. I spot everyday, mood swings are crazy, and my sex drive is GONE. I'm due for another shot this week but I'm skipping it. I'll find another way.
