I guess it wouldn't matter if I was on birth control or not because my bf doesn't want to do intimate things with me until I am more Post-Op. I am almost 8 months Post-Op. I don't want to risk getting pregnant now for a couple reasons....Money, Weight Loss, Mentally Prepared for it....

because you will absorb it the same (its a shot) i would say this would be a great way to use bc. i think the IUD (both with and without hormone) and the nuvaring would also be good, as its not absorbed through GI tract. however, a lot of people stay on their pills and love them. i would just worry because i see regular people fail with pills! ha! once you get down past 200 lbs the patch may be good as well if your doc says ok... but the effectiveness is less when you are over 200 lbs is my understanding (it might even be as low as 180 - i can't remember).
the depo stimulates the appetite, so you eat more - that is how you gain the weight. if you watch what you eat you should be ok though.

whats his malfunction?
i'd say if you were ready for it, go for it. but why is he the hold up? that would bother me. you know? is he just not ready?

He's got Spina Bifida. That is probably part of the reason.

I would hope that you would know the answer to this question, and not expect one of us to know if your bf is physically able.
