I'm barely getting enough nutrients for myself, how am I supposed to support a baby??

Any input?

Thank you...I'm having mixed emotions..I wanted another child but didnt think I could have one b/c of my health problems pre RNY.....I assumed I'd be too old when I reached a healthy weight.

I'm mostly mixed b/c of my own nutritional challenges right now, I dont want to harm a child with my messed up diet, you know?

wow!

CONGRATS Theresa!!

Luke was just complaining last night about the whole protection thing.. and this is why lol

I think you'll be ok if you take better care of yourself and do the vitamins/water/protein to a T.

Can i ask how you feel about that with the troubles lately with the DH? Everything good again?

we had actually made our peace last night...it is a work in progress but we have children, they deserve for us to put our stubborness and differences aside and work this out.....so we are.

I'm still in shock about the news, it will hit home later I'm sure...I miscarried once a couple of years ago so I'm not "accepting" it till I make it 3 months, you know?

The baby will get enough of what it needs. My surgeon told us of a woman that got pregnant at 1 week post op, and while not ideal, the baby was fine. Definitely get in to see a nutritionist that specialises in post gbs patients.

Thanks...I called my surgeons office today, they actually acted pissed about it....but what can I do now? Seemed a waste of energy for them to get upset about it.

I have to say, it's been MUCH easier to get my protein in today...I've forced myself to eat, even if I didnt want it.

I wish you and your family all the best. I imagine that it is a shock. I was shocked and I don't even know you! I hope that you have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby.

They say the baby is going to take everything that he/she needs before you get any. I know that there are a couple people that got pregnant early on and the babies are fine. There is even one lady on here that was pregnant when she had WLS, and so far all seems well with her and the baby. Just make sure you take your vits everyday, and get as much protein that you can. You should tell your OB right away so they can recommend a specialist for you. Good luck and most of all Congrats!
