Default A little up date

So I have to go for another ultrasound on July 31st. The reason is insufficient weight gain, and my belly measures at 24 weeks instead of 27 weeks. I will be 28 weeks (7 months) Saturday. The doc doesn’t seem overly concerned she just wants to make sure that my little lady is growing at the right pace. The first thing people ask is are you eating. Trust me when I say this YES I AM EATING! I would rather gain weight and make sure my little lady is healthy than not freaking eat. Of course everyone thinks OOOOOOOOOH it must be GBS, and she's not eating. WHATEVER ! My Mom had small babies and didn't really show till she was 7 months. Of course back then they didn't have ultrasounds etc.

AW!! don't worry.. my mother looked about 7 month preg. when she delivered. And I was a Twin!!!! I was just under 5lbs and my sister just 5lbs. I was only 15 inches long.. so we were small little lass'. Mother did not know she was having twins till she entered her 8th month.

I'm sure you're doing fine... and it'll be nice to have a 2nd "picture" of your baby! Oct. will be here before you know it... have you started childbirth classes yet?

Jeanie,
I'm curious how many calories you are eating and if you have difficulty getting them in? Just wondering because when (fingers crossed) I get pregnant I'm wondering what will be expected, so to speak. Good luck, and congrats on your baby girl!

I haven't started them yet, but I plan on going for sure. I'm not saying I won't opt for pain meds, but at least with the classes it will teach me how to live thru the pain a little.

To be honest I don't keep track of my calories. I don't have any problems with eating I do know that. I don't eat that much at once, but I eat more thru out the day. My doc isn't overly concerned with my weight gain, it's more on how little my belly is. She just wants to make sure she is growing at the right speed.

classes aren't for zero-med deliveries! there's a lot to know about "birthing!" Our daughter just had a baby boy (July 1)... and she had an epidural very early on in labor... it helped all the way through to the PUSHING part... I don't think there is any pain relief for that... you just have to PUSH through it! She's struggling with the breast feeding thing now - I'm amazed at the support she's getting... Professionals come out to the house to help! In "my" day... (LOL)

EXCITED for you!!!

My Brother in Law used to get so excited when he my SIL would go for the ultrasounds. It was the way he really felt connected to pregnancy...They had twins and he used to call it "going to visit the kids" LOL.

Jeanie, you have such a pretty profile picture, I'll bet you are one of those people that looks so cute pregnant! I am so happy for you and knowing all the good health advice you provide to rest of us here, I'm sure you are taking good care of yourself and your cutie-pie.

Jeanie:

I Hope everything turns out o.k. with your little lady!

I am just now measuring at 35 weeks FINALLY!! I have not gained any weight in the last week, (weird I know) but I have grown to catch up with were I am supposed to be growth/measurement wise.

EVERYONE that sees me says I only look like I am about six months along when in reality I am 8 months 1 week! Hopefully it is the same with you as well. I am really eating my way through the day but with the gestational diabetes I have to withhold from eating for two hours and then take my blood sugars.

It is such a struggle to gain weight this time around. With my 10 year old I gained 78 pounds and with my 7 year old I gain 73 pounds. I really think us Gastric girls have healthy babies we just gain the right amount! (at least that is the case for me this time around)

Keep us up to date and best wishes to you and your little lady...
