Sorry, I don't know much about the band. I had bypass and was told to wait 18 months. The reason for waiting with bypass is because of the malabsorption issues that can be present. I'm not sure why you would have to wait with the band. Why not ask your surgeon's office? I wouldn't just ask for how long to wait but also ask for why he suggests waiting that long.

I had the bypass as well, not the band. I got pregnant about 18 months out and delivered two weeks ago tomorrow. I think they give you that time frame, not only to try and get the most out of your weight loss, but also to allow your body to heal.

Well I believe they tell all WL people the same wait time, like 18-24m. Because that is the average time it take for most to get to goal. But I would say with the band since you said you are with in 15lbs of goal, then there shouldnt be a problem. You dont have to worry about malabsorption, since we banded people dont do that. But make sure you still take your vitamins, because you arent eating enough with a good fill to get the amount you need to take in.
Anyways good luck with the baby dancing! ![]()
