Thanks, you guys! I think I had pretty much decided to start trying, I just needed the reinforcement here.

A little history - we have never NOT been trying. We got married in 2000 and both of us were 30. After a year, I started having tests and I took Clomid for 6 months. In two years, we think I maybe ovulated once or twice, but we could never find a medical reason why I was not ovulating, so the excuse was always my weight. Well now I'm still overweight, but I know PLENTY of people who have babies at my weight and much heavier! After those first two years of charting and counting and all that crap, we just stopped. Well, we didn't stop having sex, but we stopped doing it for the sole purpose of getting pregnant. I had to stop or I was going to lose my mind! Now, I am ready. I know that I am on CD 12. We did it on 9 and 10 and we'll do it again on 13, 14, and 15 at least. Of course, I need to try to figure out when I actually ovulate, but because I just came off the pill some friends think that CD 14 may be the date to shoot for then wait and see when I start AF.

I'm excited! Nervous, but excited! I REALLY want a little one!

Do what feels right for you. I waited until I was at the weight I felt comfortable with before getting pregnant. For me it is like I never has WLS now that I am prego. For me I can't focus on losing weight and being prego because i am hungry all the time. It was better for me to focus on the weight loss and then when i was done with that I could focus on the baby. Again this is what was right for me but I am sure whatever you decide it will work out great!! Good luck

We did ultimately decide to go ahead and ditch the pill. We won't "really" be trying until June, when it will have been 18 months, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Today is CD1 so we're off! This past cycle, we did the dance several times around CD 14. I had a 31 day cycle, though, so I don't think we hit it right. I've never been regular so I have no clue what my cycles will be now! That's part of the reason for stopping the pill. The cycle that started today was probably my first un-medicated cycle in 20 years. I just plain ole wouldn't have my period unless I took Provera. I would get it every 6 months to force a period. Two months after surgery, I went on the pill after having a period that had lasted 2 weeks and showed no signs of stopping! Now, this one seems normal so we'll see!
