I do the same thing occasionally. It woke me up last night, choking my my saliva. I've also got some interesting heartburn going on, and it makes me wonder.....how can I have heartburn when my pouch doesn't produce acid?

I've got bad heartburn as well. My doctor put me on Tagament which has helped a lot during the day. I think it just stems from the natural acids in your stomach. I discussed with my OBGYN my sleeping/choking/caughing problem, and they just say its typical for pregnancy. But, I am telling you.....its anything from typical if you are choking/caughing while sitting up---and it only happens at night. Huge amounts of saliva....it doesn't bother me during the day at all.
Unfortunantly, I think that a lot of doctors just haven't dealt with many Lap Band patients. So, they don't have a clue on a lot of issues. My "gestational diabetes" doctor instructed me to frink a Coke if I got low blood sugar. I haven't been able to have ANY carbonated beverages since 2001 due to Lap Band. Not one.
But, they have made me take the Glucose test three times in the past 3 months. These were the 3 hour tests.....yes, its has been a pain...but in the end if it is helping the baby...then, it needs to be treated.
But, I am totally still frustrated with my unbearable nights. And, so is Dear Husband....I hate that I keep him up.

I can't believe that the Dr. made you do the glucose test. My doctor had me monitor my blood sugar for 2 weeks, we looked at the numbers, and that was it. He said he wasn't going to put me through dumping to get results that the blood sugar over 2 weeks could tell him.

Glad you made it through alright. Hope you enjoy your little one!
