26 weeks
Hi everyone! I just thought I would check in. I haven't posted in a few months. Last time I posted was to announce my pregnancy! Well... I am now 26 1/2 weeks along and doing great! I have gained 20-25 pounds, depending on the day lol! I have about 13 weeks to go, so the weight gain is about right. I was so wrried I would gain too much, but I think I'm going to be just fine. We are having a little girl and she is growing and developing right on track! I go to have my sugar test this coming Thursday. I am a bit concerned about dumping after drinking that yucky stuff, but I'll live lol.
Hope everyone is having a grat summer!

Is there another test that can be done so that you don't have to drink that? Dumping is never fun ... but dumping while pregnant sounds even worse to me.

You DONT have to drink that stuff. Ask them about the test where you go in for a fasting draw, then eat a normal meal, and then go back for further draws. You will feel like DEATH if you do this test. If they don't agree, you can refuse the testing. Get a glucose meter (or have one presribed) and test your blood after you eat. A lot of times they tell you to do it 1-2 hours post prandial to get the high reading (in NORMAL people). I found that my sugars hit their peaks within 30-1 hr post and I would crash (if I was going to) at the 2 hour point. Good luck to you!

Oh Megan, you don't want to do the glucose test. Tracie's right, you're going to dump like you've never dumped before. Can you explain to them that you're a GBS patient and it's icky bad for you to drink that syrup?

First off Congrats! Secondly, like everyone said do not drink that gluclose syrup.......There is no need for it! I can't believe your OB doctor is even thinking about allowing you to drink that (if he knows your GBS). My OB doctor knew I was post GB and checked into other things he could do and like someone else mentioned they decided the best thing to have me do is come in right in the AM do a fasting blood draw and then sent me to the cafe in the hospital to eat MY normal and then wait 1-2 hours and draw my blood again! Much easier on your body sweety! I sure hope you check in here before you do that test!
