Default surgery thursday 11 a.m! any advice will be appreciated

Dear all, only 3 days to go to have my vertical sleeve. I am so anxious and scared and afraid to die but at the same time dreaming to have my life back to me. to feel as a woman again. I am so sick of people's comment on my fat. it is something boring and happening all the time.
I got so many info from this site and I am so thankful to all of you.
now I know I will need vitamins, calcium citrate and something to stop gall bladder stones and this nexium. also I know I have to sip as much as I can and walk. I hope my family will be supportive. How much time do i need to feel back to normal after the surgery?

Good luck on Thursday! I think how long it takes to recover is really different for different people. Most people seem to be doing pretty good in two to four weeks.

Default Wishing you all the best!!

I know you are nervous but it is really a simple procedure, rarely taking more than 30 mins. You'll be up and about in no time......

...and on the loser's bench!

Good luck on Tuesday, and with Hell Week!!

Advice:

Prepare the supplements/shakes, for the week before you go.

Take your "Before" pics!

Pack the following (and I needed nor wanted ANYTHING else for my 5 days in the hospital)

lip balm: My preference is Burts Bee's balm.

eye mask: to block the lights when the mean nurses flip the switch at 2 in the AM to check vitals- grrrrr

ear plugs: block out noisy roommates and their guests (which- WTH is up with people thinking that hospital rooms where sick people are trying to rest & heal is a good place for family reunions????) and the mean nurses who flip the switch at 2 in the AM to check vitals

Good luck!

Bring a robe to wrap around you for your trips walking up and down the hallways and also bring a pair of slip on shoes. I'm so excited for you I remember that nervous but exciting feeling. This is a whole new beginning for you and good luck! Lisa
