Red face I'm going ahead with it.

I am no longer considering, I've accepted the decision by my doctors to have the Gastric sleeve. At this time I'm just doing as much research as possible about the sleeve surgery. I will be having mine around May or June this year. I've been told in comparison this surgery is not as common as the gastric bypass, so it's a little harder to find people who are post.op. having undergone the sleeve gastrectomy. I'm thinking in someways my journey has began.

Please anyone who is post op. GS please let me know how you are progressing.

Hi, well done. I was just wondering if your diabetic, how do you cope with not eating as much. If my blood sugars get low I feel to pass out. Did the docors talk to you about how to control this.

Regards

Hyacinth

Default You Tube

For any pre-op Gastric Sleeve people, I've come across loads of people pre-op and post-op. GS people, who are using You Tube as their choice of medium. You can listen and see them on their journey.

I spent too much time on their yesterday. Just put in Gastric Sleeve in your search on You Tube.

Good luck.

Default Welcome to the VSG club Hyacinth.

Its a small club, but filled with LOSERS! Im really amazed at how easy the procedure and recovery has gone for me.

I get my real test next week. Im headed to the Middle East on Monday for a two week trip. Will post details in Aviator's Log book over the weekend.

It is a test in so many ways.

Let us know how you are progressing.

And yes...read Eric's story. Im just a cub compared to him.

Default Hello Hychap2009

Hello Hychap2009,
Yes Aviator is a great one to go to for advice.
I am 3 weeks post-op and my only regret is not having the op sooner.
My only real whine has come from getting sick of eating the sweet fluids that seemed to take over my diet needs for the fluid stage -due to the fact that I couldn't find a suitable savoury fluid that I liked.
To think I was terrified of having the op!!
It is hard to imagine that the sensation of being hungry will be a thing of the past-but it happens and you don't miss it-at all.I had/have cravings but once I nibbled on what I craved I was content. One day I really felt like a potato wedge when a friend had some.I gave in to my craving and nibbled the end of one.I had about 1/8th of an inch and didn't want it anymore.
I feel so healthy that at times I question if the op was in my dreams.
Vicki

Default I'm A BIT UPSET!

As some of you may already know I had what I was told was my final appointment with the obesity clinic. At that appointment in January I was told I would be on a 4 months waiting list and even discussed the possibility that it was likely to be around May or June this year. They said If I had not recieved a confirmation letter within a month to phone. Well I phoned today. Oh My Days!, the women told me that i have not yet been allocated a date and that the waiting list was 6 months. I'm so P....ed off. In truth July's not that much more, but I've become so committed to having the op and it took me some time getting here, (my head that is). I don't want to have too much time to think about negative aspects of the op. Hip hip araay though to people like Aviator, an inspiration.

I guess I'll just have to readjust my mind set again and keep looking forward; keep up my preparation, I should be going to the pool tomorrow, the first time in years and I mean years lol.

Regards

Hyacinth.
