Default CT Scan Done, next - Ultrasound

Right, well I've had my CT scan this morning, got there just before 8am, then was asked to drink 5 cups of water so didn't have my scan until just after 9am. Anyway Scan DONE!

However, when I got home there waiting for me was another letter from the hospital. ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGG! Yeah, for an US Pelvis transvaginal ultrasound. Guess when, 7th August at 3pm. So it looks like I wont be getting a date for August then. There must be some reason as to the way everything is playing out for me. I've decided to try and just go with the flow because I'm a true believer in "everything happens for a reason", and that "nothing never happens before the time". So no point in stressing is there. I just thought that having a CT scan would negate the need for the ultrasound. Maybe my mistake.

Oh yes, guess what, I ordered a nice dressing top online, it arrived today and its too small, but I decided to keep it as I will with the mercy of God, fit into it sometime soon. I'm kind of stuck as I really don't wont to spend too much money on new clothes and shoes, cause at my size clothes cost an awful lot of money, it would be such a waste if in a few months time they no longer fit. Is this wishful thinking? lol

Anyway thanks for listening.

Good morning Hyacinth,
Are you sure your surname isn't Murphy? My maiden name is and sure as eggs are eggs Murphy's Law exists for me. I married my husband to escape from it but it followed. Now my husband thinks I am a jinx. You must have a Murphy somewhere in your background!!!

I've been told in comparison this surgery is not as common as the gastric bypass, so it's a little harder to find people who are post.op. having undergone the sleeve gastrectomy. Please anyone who is post op. GS please let me know how you are progressing.
Hi Peeps. UPdate since first post.

Just a quick note to say that todate i'm still here waiting for my surgery. I still do not have a date. I was told that I was on a 4 months waiting list, then 6 months, then there was a back log waiting for surgery, finally when it was my turn I had my pre-assessment; then they enquired about a CT scan I had back in 2003, so they wanted to re-investigate, so another CT scan was scheduled following on from that an Transvaginal ultrasound scan has been scheduled for August 7th, so its very unlikely that I would have had my surgery in August either. Still waiting.

Default Surgery Date - Update/Laser Hair Removal

I'm off to have my first laser hair removal treatment tomorrow morning. I really hope it goes well. I spoke to the hospital yesterday and the co-ordinator asked me whether I was ready for my surgery. I thought what a weird question to be asking, I've been ready from what seems like forever. Tomorrow afternoon I have my transvirginal ultra sound scan. Ohhhhhhh.

Anyway the co-ordinator said she is going to endeavor to get me my surgery date for September as a matter of urgency as I've been waiting for over 6 months now.

I say, lets see.

Default Transviginal Ultrasound

Hi Vicki

i've had both the CT scan and the transvirginal ultrasound. Neither of them were that bad. The good news is, the nurse said that everything seemed fine. I've not heard anything from the doctors though, according to them they will compare both scans to satisfy themselves that everything is alright. Yesterday i phoned the admissions to find out if i'm any closer to getting my date for surgery. She said that she has a pile of paperwork on her desk, and that she needs th chase the surgeon to agree the dates for September. Once she has met with him she will compile the lists. I do know I'm supposed to be at the top of the list. I know the surgeon will be on leave from 18th August, so I'll just have to wait and see. How are you doing? Good to hear from you.

It's getting close now isn't it?
Great news about the scans.
I have more info to pass onto you about the stage I am at now.
and you will be in about 7 months from now.
I am 6 months out and feel close to as normal as it will ever be.They say that it takes from 6-9 months to get to the new 'normal'. So maybe I do have a bit of a way to go yet.
BUT at the moment I don't feel as if I have had an op.
I wake up hungry in the morning and feel like I could eat a horse. The other day I was very naughty and when cooking my son bacon and eggs for breakfast I made myself a bacon sandwich with fresh bread-and ate it.Today I managed 1 and a 1/2 slices of toast with a slice of cheese and couldn't eat more.
But if I do that I am not looking for food again until near lunchtime. For lunch I eat a lot less than at breakfast.Sometimes just a few pieces of chicken-about 1 tablespoon or so.I can now eat salad but need to eat the protein first.
Then I move ahead to the afternoon where I find I need something like a few crackers and peanut butter to keep me going. Then by dinnertime my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I can't eat my dinner.I am now finding that I wrap up my dinner and have it for lunch the next day.
The biggest challenge is not eating ice-cream at night time.It is too easy to eat and my kids can't survive too long without it so it is too available!!
My weight loss has slowed right down but I am happy with how I am now.
My need for emotional eating seems to be abating and my new eating style seems to be one that is normal rather than one I am trying to adjust to.I guess that was the biggest hurdle for me-finding the new normal. It is also the same way I used to like to eat when I was only 50kilos so is probably my very own original eating style.
I do worry that I am eating too much in the morning and that I might stretch my pouch but ....The best thing is that I no longer feel like I am going without.I have what I want without the guilt factor.
Shoes-just wait until you are falling out of your shoes-very embarrassing.I am waiting for summer so don't want to buy new shoes yet but my winter ones are too big.I have put innersoles in them but they are still too big.I just flop around and trip over.I look/feel like a toddler in her mother's shoes.
Wedding RingsI have had my rings spot welded together to stop them spinning around on my finger. It is too early to have them resized so keep spot welding in mind when it happens to you.It works.
UndiesThe biggest surprise.I still haven't gone down a size!I can't work that one out!!!
Thermal underwearYes I now need some.I have felt so cold this winter.
All in all to reach this stage within a mere 6 months is a miracle.
Can't wait for you to be like me.Free!!
Vicki
