Great news Hyacinth.Does this mean you can have a great b'day party to not only celebrate your b'day but also the celebration of the entry into a new life. What providence-I love that word.
I have lost track of the weeks since my op but it was about 16 weeks ago.I have been too impatient but sometimes I get a shock when I realise how much I have lost-about 16 kilos. Not as much as others but still a decent amount.I am now slowly getting to the stage where I am not thinking about what stage I am up to as much.I wouldn't go back to post-op for anything.Yesterday I was looking at some old photos of myself.I felt so ashamed of how far I let things go.If only....
Anyway Hyacinth it is great news.

Hi Vicki, great to hear from you. Well, when I realised that I was not going to have my op by the end of May, I decided I needed to go ahead and plan something for my birthday, It is the BIG one after all, lol. I didn't have much time to arrange a party so I opted for dinner at a nice Italian restuarant with 60 guest, family and a close friends. Its a really nice place and fit for the occassion. It's crazy and somewhat ironic would you say. If I get my date on my birthday; then this will be my celebration and final nosh up. Couldn't have planned it better myself. lol. I really hope nothing comes up and spoils it for me. So I gues for now its, watch this space.

Regard

Hyacinth.

Oh my days! are you serious? I thought my wait was frustrating enough. Thanks for the birthday wishes guys, I had a fantastic birthday celebration. In a nut shell over 60 guest at a beautiful Italian restaurant located by the river. Fabulous - lots of little suprises ending with a slide show with pictures of me over the decades, cringe. That was my sisters doing. (pics. added).

I turned up for my appointment at the hospital full of anticipation only to find out that they didn't even know why I was there. No pre-assessment, no surgery date. Who me? Disappointed?

After a few checks, the informed me that I would be getting a letter this week with a pre-assessment date. JOKERS

To sooth away the stress, I indulged myself with a few Molton Brown moments. Touching my senses and relax................aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

Dear Hyacinth,
How frustrating!
Just imagine you were waiting for lap-band and ended up being one of the few who it didn't work for? That would be ironic but might have been something that would happen to you with your current WLS history so far.It is like a neverending story!

Enjoy every mouthful of food you have.Your turn will come to go on this wonderful adventure. You too will discover the thrill of donating your clothes to charity one by one.All that extra wardrobe space.I love wearing something for the last time.I wear it.wash it and then donate it.Only problem is that I don't have many clothes left!!!You will prob have your op at the same seasonal time as I did-end of summer. This means that at the end of your summer you can toss ALL your summer clothes out and anticipate ALL new ones for next summer!!!I have so I am hoping that I get some work so I can actually get those new clothes when summer rolls up! PLUS I need new smaller shoes!!!

If you have been reading Aviator's blog you will notice that food isn't mentioned as much.I too am entering the stage where I am forgetting to think about food as much as before and the WLS.It is becoming much more a part of me.
I have to admit over the past few months I have grieved for my old ways.At the same time I would never have wanted the op undone. It was a true Catch 22.

During the last two weeks I have noticed a change where I can partake in a 3 course meal. That was one of my miseries over the last few months.I can now have a few spoonfuls of each course and enjoy it.I can eat enough of each to feel that I have had a proper meal-albeit in a very ladylike manner-no more woofing down a meal and still feeling like seconds-while observing others eating like I used to and being a bit too judgemental of them.It feels GREAT!

So I say enjoy every mouthful now.Don't waste time being guilty about it.You will have 3 months of missing your old ways and then you will once again relax with food-BUT will get the prize of losing weight while doing it.

The pitfall of my thinking is that after the op-if you are like me-you want to shed the weight like wildfire. If you diet now before the op you will reach your goal much quicker. In retrospect I wish I had of tried harder but then again not being able to led me to this op.Whatever I now do I will lose the weight. It is actually very hard not to lose weight-in my case -unless I continue to eat more than the odd naughty treat.

Can't wait to go on your adventure with you.
Vicki

Default The Big Drama

The good news is, my pre-assessment date is the 3rd July. However, how we got there - what a ride. They messed up my birthday, the whole day wasted, then gave me false hope that I'd get my letter this week. Finally, I called and insisted on knowing when the pre-assessment date would be, i didn't want to wait for the letter. Well now I know, I've slowly started to become demotivated, so I need to bring myself back up again.

I had a dream the other night that I was on the operating table - panicked and tried to make a run for it, in the dream I was also worried that I couldn't breath through my nose, this made me panic even more.

Something fishy going on.

Hyacinth
