Good morning all. Does anyone know if there are restrictions with antibiotics before surgery. My son has strep throat and now I think I have it.

I was sick prior to my last surgery (thyroid removal) and the doctor said as long as my breathing wasn't bad they would continue to do the surgery.

I think they need to insure your lungs are ok before they do the surgery because of the anesthesia.

When is your surgery?

Dr. Callery replied to someone's post the other day in the Ask Dr. Callery section of the forum regarding being sick pre-op. (go to the main page of the forums, scroll WAY down towards the bottom of the forum lists and you'll find it)

Hope you feel better.. you do have some time still. I'd check with your own doctor too, see what they say.
