Anthem of CA does anyone have them? If so how long did it take for approval.

I have an Anthem Blue Cross HMO... Once I submitted the paperwork to have the actual surgery, I think it took less than a week. I submitted through my medical group and the lady at the front desk at my surgeons office nagged them I think. I had to have it in the summer because I'm in college and taking 3 or so weeks off for surgery isn't really an option!

From the start of the 6 month supervized diet to surgery date took me between 9 and 10 months.

I have Anthem (PPO) BCBS of California and I had no six month diet. My approval took about 4 days from the time of submittal of all paperwork.

Thanks, I just neverous that once we submit the paper work it will take forever to approve. Next year they are changing the benifits up so now I'm worried that they won't cover next year.

I also have BC Anthem. The entire process from day 1 of asking my PCP for a referral to the day of my surgery was 4 months. The actual approval took about two weeks. The longest wait was for the surgery date.
