Day before surgery

I am not allowed to eat anything tomorrow, but the Dr said I can drink, fluids and protein.
Does anyone know if it has to be clear liquids? My husband purchased very good whey protein isolate (not totally clear) can I drink this on the day before?

Thank you for any feed back and help.

For me it was clear liquids only the day before surgery.
