Question This is really going to happen.....

I hate to admit this but I have discovered that I am a real pessimist. After reading all of the insurance nightmares on this forum, I never thought I would be approved. I have been waiting for something negative to happen for the last 3 months. Well, yesterday, Nicky, my insurance representative called me to let me know I was approved. I think she was more excited than I was! She said she had to call the surgeon’s office first, but could not dial my number fast enough, right afterwards. I love Empire BC/BS! My LAP RNY is scheduled for August 1st. The only small glitch is that Empire BC/BS policy is to allow only 1 night stay. The doctor procedure is 2 nights stay, fluids do not start until the day after surgery. Nicky said not to worry, because if they do not give me any fluids the day of surgery, then they will not be able to release me and insurance will need to approve another day. Have any of you had this issue?

Congrats on your date. Once I was approved I didn't have any other problems. Aug 1st is just around the corner.

Judy, I don't know how I missed this before. I hope you're on the losing side and recuperating nicely!

Default Doing Great!

Thanks Lynda and James,
Check out my post today for the beginning of my story. I've only lost 9 lbs so far, but I feel great! My diet was primarily carbs and sugar before, so I guess it is due to getting all that stuff out of my system.
