Question Cost of Self Pay with Dr. Callery?

Hi everyone! I just found out that my insurance may not cover my surgery with Dr. Callery. I would feel so much more comfortable having him do my surgery than another doctor because he did my father's gb and he had no problems. Has anyone self payed with Dr. Callery that is available to comment on this forum? I'm going to call the office soon, but I just wanted to kinda get a ballpark number first. Thanks!

So, my search continued this morning and I found out that the self pay cost is A LOT - ( Around $20,000 once you add up Dr. C's fee, the hospital, anesthesia, and the assistant surgeon's fee) so I had to say bye bye to the idea of having Dr. Callery do my surgery. The good news is that Dr. Pott's IS contracted with my insurance company (Healthnet PPO), so I feel great about that.

I had Dr Wittgrove. I think he is under $20,000 for self pay. I am not for sure about this, but itis worth a try. I know they have payments that they can help you with too. He is out of La Jolla. Try him. Good luck

PS if you can get your PPO to cover some the hospital stay then he only costs $8000. That is what I paid.

I honestly thought it was a little more then that but I guess the coast has dropped since the last time I checked. Honestly there are a lot of good surgeons out here, don't pay out of pocket if you do not have to. I hope all worksout with Dr. Potts.
