I'm new to the forum, sitting here going through the forum and before and after pics. I'm counting down(12 days until my surgery). So, you know I am getting kinda nervous at this point. I start my Cabbage Soup Diet next week-anyone else have to do this? So, I guess I'll "enjoy" Mother's Day on Sunday!! I plan on going to Carrabba's for some pasta (one last time?) Just wondering if anyone out there is in the Fayetteville,NC area? or had your surgery performed by Dr. Classen? Looking for a little support in my area. Maybe I need to go to a support group meeting before the surgery? Thanks to everyone for the support--it really makes a difference!!

Hi Katina and welcome to the forum!

I don't have the cabbage soup diet...but, I do have a Liquid Diet 10 days before my surgery on May 26th that I will be doing-- as well as a bowel prep the day before surgery.

Congrats on being a Loser soon!!! Hopefully you will find a support group in person or online in your area, with other people that have the same surgeon.

Thanks everyone! I think I will go to a support group meeting if there is one before my surgery. But, if not, talking to you guys is great support!! Vanessa, I am having my surgery at Cape Fear. I've read that having your surgery early in the week is better because more nurses familiar with bariatric patients work during the week. My surgery is on a Monday. THE COUNT DOWN IS ON . Bubbasmama, I am originally from south carolina--Marion County! Small world!! Sara, we are definitely on our way to becoming real big LOSERS! I can't wait to feel great about my body!! Talk to everyone soon.

Hey!

I just came from Fayette'nam. Welcome to the forum. I have a couple friends I can get you in touch with who had the surgery there. They didn't have Dr. Classen as their surgeon, but they will be a wealth of information and support for you. Email me if you are interested.

Also, WOMAC has a support group meeting. It's an open forum.
