I'm new to the group
Hi my name is Ruby. I am married and have 7 children. I am so excited yesterday my file was put in for dictation. Does anyone know how long it really takes for dictation? At the pre-op lecture Dr. Callery said that they were getting them done every week. But the info I recieved said to give them 2-3 weeks. Thanks for letting me join your group Ruby

Ruby,
Welcome. We're glad you're here! It takes about 1 to 2 weeks, but sometimes, depending upon the amount of people in the que, it can take that long. From my understanding, it used to take much longer than 2 - 3 weeks.
I'm wishing you the best of luck in your journey.

Too close now for words!
Hi everyone!!! Guess what...I got approved by the Ins Co today!!!! (Anthem Mathew Thornton Blue HMO) I had my consult with my surgeon last Friday, 11/5/04 and they put the paperwork in on Monday 11/8/04, and they called this afternoon and said it was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!
I go for the pre op stuff this Monday 11/15, and I am scheduled for surgery
Monday 11/22/04!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited, and happy and ready to start my new life, I want to shed this coccoon, and come out in the end as a beautiful butterfly!
I am so ready, I keep making little lists as I go and keep getting all the things I'll need afterwards, I picked up liquid vitamins for the 1st couple of weeks, and sublingual B12, chewable calcium, and thanks to all you great upbeat "bypass buddies" lots of diferent protein powders for shakes and all, got different kinds of sugar free drink mixes.
God I could go on and on!!!!!!
So here I am 11 days and counting!!! Anyone out there from New Hampshire to have close here too??? Then after I get the Open Rouen Y done I could be help to others too and give lots of support!!!
Thanks again and good luck to you all that have gone through this and that are thinking about it!!!!!!!
Kim

Hi Im New Too
Hi My Name Is Meyosha, But I Am Under Dimples 7. I Am Still In The Process Of Getting Everything Together For The Approval Just To See The Specialist. (it Has Been A Long Hard Journey). But I Know It Will Be Well Worth It. My Next Appt. Is Jan. 28th And That Is When I Turn In All My Info. Ex: 6 Month Food Journal, My Sleep Study Info, Psych Eval, And Dietician Notes. I Am So Nervous That My Insurance Wont Approve. I Have Been Going Through All Of This Since Nov. 2003. So Far Everything Is Going Good, It Is Just A Waiting Game. I Am So Glad To See That There Are So Many People Here Who Support Each Other, You All Seem Like Wonderful Uplifting People. I Read Some Of The Posts Before I Joined And All Of You Great People Gave Me The Boost I Needed To Join. I Kinda Feel Like A New Student, At A New School On The First Day Of School. I Am Th Only Person In My Family Who Is Overweight And Though I Have Their Support, They Will Never Know What I Am Truly Going Through. I Am Gratefull For This Forum. I Dont Really Know How To Navigate Through This System So If Any One Has Any Pointers They Are Welcome. I Hope To Gain Many Friendships Through This Forum.

Dimples
You go to the category you want to be in.. (i.e. Preop, emotional support, nutrition.. etc.) then on the top right above the threads it will say something like "Start a new thread" or something like that. You click on that and you're good to go..
Good luck..
