Default My PCP referring me to surgeon! Yeah!

I went to see my PCP for the 1st time today and he referred me to the bariatric surgeon for my medical group! I was so nervous that my weight might be borderline but instead I had gained 5 pounds. Was I in denial, probably. I also found out that I have high blood pressure and the doctor prescribed medication. Not so thrilled about that.

My PCP said that I should receive the approval in the next two weeks. I know the wait will feel like forever! I was tempted to ask my PCP to expedite the referral but I restrained myself. I think I'll just call the office tomorrow and ask when they will send the request and if they will call me when they receive it.

Anyway, I just wanted to share.......

Sounds like youre on your way. Congrats and Good luck. I dont know if youve already gone to an information seminar but if you havent yet, you can call the surgeons office that youre being referred to and see if there's anything such as the seminar that you can get out of the way now.
See ya,

Thanks for the encouragement!

Default Sounds Great!

I got my referral to the surgeon today, and I won't see him till May! So things are going quickly for you - though it may not feel that way!

It'll all happen sooner than you think!

I just called the surgeons office to see how long it takes to get the authorization for the consult and she said that I didn't have to wait for the referral and she went ahead and made me an appt for next Wednesday!!!
I am so excited! I just need to get through the week-end without obsessing
about what will happen durinng the consultation!!

Sandy,
Consult is easy. At mine, i got weighed, she gave me a binder, went over my application with me, signed a couple papers, then she gave me a request for all the tests I needed to complete.
Good luck and keep us informed.
