Dear Eric,
Doctors dot he gastric bypasses here in Missouri on ages 11 and up. And you are right it is the BMI and not the height. It is a tool to become healthy. The only known cure for Diabetes at this time for almost all those who have it done. ( I am living proof). I was on shots , pills and the insulin pump before surgery in June and came home on just the pump and it was removed on October 7th. Do Not give up !!! please PROMISE yourself that there are other options. You are already on the right track by doing all the research on it. Just find a doc to do it for you even if you have to leave the state it is all worth it to be a lilve a day longer ! Hang in there. You will succeed . You are in m,y prayers. I only wish my overweight 17 year old would have the determination to have it done as you. She has already been approved and wont do it.
