Wedding Dresses
I know what you are going through. I had my surgery at the end of September. My brother is getting married in June in Cancun. We have been dress shopping and it is hard!! I have had to tell people about the surgery. I tell them that I am going to be losing weight and they give me the "oh" so you are going to diet between now and then look. So I have to tell them...No I am really going to be losing weight and I don't have any idea what size I will be. I tried on a 22 dress the other day and it is too big. How many sizes to go down??? I am thinking of ordering an 18 and they said they can take it down up to 3 more sizes. I can also trade the dress 8 weeks before the wedding if that is not going to be enough but that would be pushing it!! It is very stressful but it is also fun to know that I will for the FIRST TIME EVER--be able to fit into a bridesmaid dress and not look like a tent maker made the dress. The picked a sleeveless dress and I am kind of worried about the upper arm area so I have been targeting this area at the gym. Anyone have any good arm excercises that I could do to target the upper arm area???
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY AND WITH THE DRESS!

Off the cuff I say 75 lbs........I'm basing that on general stats and your current weight. I don't know what size that would leave you, but I'd order a little big.........you can always take it in, but you can't make it bigger. Have a good seamstress at hand. You're gonna look fabulous though!

LOL......my friend who had surgery a week before me, and I always shop together. We're always chattering about what size we'll be and what season we should be able to wear it, etc. I'm sure the people we don't explain it to are rolling their eyes and clucking their tongues about how silly we are.

I feel ya
I am too in this predictament. I actually am the one getting married, April 29th, and I haven't even looked at dresses. I'm not wearing white and want something "hawaiian" so I'll be a little luckier (or at least I think so). If I were doing the big white dress with all that entails, it'd be harder.
I'm thinking I'm just having something made, so I'll wait until closer to the the date, maybe a month & 1/2 out; something like that.
I've made both bridesmaid dresses and wedding dresses in the past, depending on the style, you can take them in quite a bit (sometimes more than that 3 sizes thing)! So, most importantly, buy it "big" vs. too close to call! Good luck and keep us posted on your pre-op progress.

I'd say go bigger rather than smaller. You can only let out so much, but taking in you can do so much more. I think 22 is a reasonable expectation.
