Whitney! Cheer up buttercup! You have your date, and like we've been saying all along, God has a schedule to keep and he's keeping TWO days open for you right now. All things happen when they are meant to.
That said, however, I'm going to have a little pray to the big man upstairs and whisper that 3/7 is a WAAAAAAAAAY better date for you!!
CONGRATS on finally having a date!!

I went to the Dr. this morning and met with my NP to start the Optifast diet. Doc wants me to loose 30 pounds before surgery due to the fact that I have a fatty liver, it will make surgery safer, and I will be more successful in the long run. She went through the whole set up - I get 5 juice box sized containers to drink every day. They total 800 calories, and taste like Slim Fast, but have way more nutrients in them. That will be my food along with 2 quarts of water a day (can also have diet soda, black coffe, and s/f drinks like Crystal Lite, etc) until my day of surgery.... MARCH 17, 2006!!! Thats (hmmm...lemme calculate) 59 days away!! The light at the end of the tunnel is this: If they see my losing trend indicating that I can make to 30 pound goal much earlier, I have time also booked 3/7/06 - a mere 49 days from now. Jeez - now that I calculated the days - I am kinda depressed!! In all seriousness, please pray for 3/7...I have a high stress job in HR/benefits, and our open enrollment is the entire month of April for 5/1/06 effective date, so we are in final pricing and decision making meetings the last week in March. If I have surgery 3/17, I will only get 2 weeks off before I am back at work. I would work exclusively on the benefits and nothing else, but still...3/7 would be best. I will most likely know if I can be bumped up by the end of January they said.
Thanks for all of your good thoughts and prayers - I just love you all so much that only my hubby, my mom, and you guys know right now!!!!

Wow, I think that is excitig news......and I know you can do it. It will be hard to stay on the liquids, but in a way it might make it easier to not be struggling with all the food issues as you try to get healthier for surgery. I think you'll do great and end up getting your earlier date. Just keep on keeping on Whitney.............your time will get here!!

Congratulations Whitney! Believe me it'll be here before you know it! It was only a couple of months ago that my date seemed so far away, and now i've only 9 days to go! Stick with the Optifast and take it all just one day at a time

Optifast
You will loose the weight by then if you stick to the program 100%. I lost 22 the first month and 20 the second and my highest weight was 240. The shakes gave me losts of energy and I did not feel hungry. I was actually glad that I did not have to deal with food throughout the day. There is a website under optifast forum if you google it and it has receipes to make orange julious shakes. You will be able to do this faster than you know.

You guys are sooooo aweseome!! Thanks for your words of encouragement, your prayers, positive thoughts, and friendship. I know I will keep re-reading this post on this liquid phase. Yes, I think 3/7 is an incentive to not cheat, and to work it 100%...the goal is well worth the effort.
Erica - thanks for the heads up on the Optifast forum - I will definately check it out. 50ish days of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry as my tantalizing choices for a meal may get old quickly, but so far, there is no preparation, no clean up, no dishes, and no thought in what I eat...and that is my style!!

Opti fast goes fast!
My first week on Opti I lost 12 pounds and they gave me extra shakes so I would't lose so fast. Then I lost like 6 or 7 pounds, so I predict it will go fast. (I mean they don't call it Opti-gradual!) Even if it takes you twice as long, you'll be done long before 3/7 - you'll be in there soon! And don't forget that February is a short month!!
