Wellllll...I did it...I still can't eat and swallow meat to this day.Buttttttttttt...I did chew and spit out an entire steak.Did it..won't apologize.
I wish I could eat steak the real way but I can't digest it.Loved the juices and the flavor.

I don't know, it still sounds different to me. It sounds like they are doing it to overindulge and doing it routinely. I guess it depends whether it becomes or could become a habit or addiction, and whether it's keeping someone from health.

Not good
I mean there are enzymes that start breaking down food in your mouth, so I would think they are getting some calories from "chewing" anyway. But I'll hop on the band wagon and say that it sounds like a slippery surface into eating disorder.
Facing the craving and resisting it is part of the training of how to eat healthily. They must learn to deal with whatever it is that drives them to McD's. Chewing and spitting is missing the opportunity for growth - and hey - it is really gross too!

I guess if it were Bon Bons or a candy bar I chewed and spit out I would feel bad.Maybe because it was steak ,I didn't see the problem with it.(maybe that is the problem)
I can see where it could become a bad habit.I would not advise someone else to do it...but just admitting to my chew & spit episode.
I am glad that we can share what can happen and never be ashamed.May we all learn and live well.

totally agree with vanessa, I did too ate half a steak and spit it out but I was only two months post op, I haven't done that since then, I believe the more time with your tool you learn to love it and use it, you become more aware on what's good for you, you know how you used to be and at least I don't wanna go back there, it's all about time and learning.

I think there's a big difference between spitting something out because it doesn't agree with you, and spitting a meal out because you KNOW it's bad for you and you don't want the calories / fat / dumping. This woman has a problem and should seek professional help.

That chewing and spitting story reminds me of an interview I read a long time ago that was with Dolly Parton. Remember she lost all that weight? I dont think there was any surgery involved but anyway she said after she lost all her weight she would still get cravings for doughnuts. So when she was on the set surrounded by food temptations she would take a doughnut, chew it up, and discreetly spit it into a styrofoam coffee cup. She said when she would get up to go on stage she'd hand the cup to a production assistant and get a weird look every time when they saw what was in it!

I have taken a bite of something that I knew was not good for me, like a cookie, chewed it up, felt sooooo guilty, so I spit it out. But I don't do what they do, intentionally, just to taste those bad foods! That's a problem. It's only a matter of time before they start swallowing, and never stop.

I have also done this, but never planning to do it. For instance, one time I took a bite of chicken (something I have had trouble with in the past); I sensed how dry it was as I began chewing, so I thought, "No way am I going to let that get stuck!" and got rid of it.

Well you did it cuz you cant physically swallow it chicken! I think the main prob is when peeps eat stuff bad for them then chew it and spit it out. Steak is very very good for you.... as long as you have it when your supposed too.
Your alright girly! Hey sorry to hear about your girl Tyra's retirement- lol!
