Mine was anything til lunch the day before, then liquids after that til midnight then nothing. I did not have any sort of bowel prep either. I think I was one of the lucky ones!

Dr Wittgrove and his staff will always be there if you have any questions. If you feel you need more info call Sue. She is wonderful and will always be there to answer your questions. I exchanged many emails with her pre-op and post-op. You will get "the binder" and it wil be full of all the info you need. I got mine 1 week before my WLS. It helps a lot and the class after your WLS will be very helpful for info too. The bowel prep is not bad at all. We have it better than most, thank god he didn't require two weeks of liquids pre-op.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. I am going to call the doc.s office again today. Wow 2 weeks of nothing but liquid before surgery .. thats would be very hard for me. Good luck everyone on your surgeries. I will keep you all updated on what I find out.

My nutritionist gave me an 11 day pre-op diet to follow. She said the surgeon wants to shrink my liver as much as possible beforehand. It's not a liquid diet, more like Atkins...small portions, high protein, low carb and regular meals...no GRAZING.

Ok, My Doc's secretary called and told me to stop reading things on the internet. lol...She said that I am not having a laproscopic surgery and that the liquid diet is most likely for that proceedure. Oh she did say just don't eat anything after midnight the day before surgery. She told me to stop worrying about the diet. She said that I am going to recieve my "booklet bible" on the day of my surgery. She said that I need to relax and enjoy my time before my surgery.

So my 3 girlfriends took me to the Crack Pot and we had steamed crabs and crab soup to celebrate my new life.

Wow, not much longer 1 1/2 days before my date 01/06/2006 for my surgery. I am still not scared yet but i'm sure i'll be nervious come tomorrow. Today is halfway gone and its hard to concentrate here at work. My boss and his boss called and talked me to let me know that my job is secure. They have no intensions of posting my job. In fact my boss's boss said that if my recovery takes longer then 6 weeks then so be it... My job will be waiting for me when i'm able to return. What exciting news today brings.
