Am I doing a Bad thing? Nutri System?
I was almost afraid to post this, but you all know I've had no luck losing my 10% on my own, so I broke down and got a months worth of NutriSystem food. It was on sale and I figure, how much damage can I do in 4 weeks? It is VERY high in protein, I'll say that much!
Anyway, I am feeling a bit desparate. After two weeks of working out and not losing an ounce, I hear that clock ticking. If I don't get in to see Dr. R in February, I might have to wait another year to get the surgery done. (Because of how many sick days I have and my concert schedule) By then, who knows what kind of shape I'll be in!
So - did any of you ever use this stuff? Am I going to kill myself here? And remember, this is just to lose my 10% - I have no illusions that I'll lose 140 pounds on this. The prepackaged food will actually help me not have to deal with measuing and planning and shopping too. It doesn't look like much food, so it may help me get used to smaller portions too. I sure hope it helps. I'll also be working out everyday.
I don't know - I hate to support the diet industry, but if I can lose 20 pounds in the next two months, it will be worth it.
Okay - I'm ready, let me have it.

Gina! Don't beat yourself up so much! You don't owe anyone any apologies for the choices you make. The doctor encourages you to try other weight loss programs before you have the surgery. At least that was one of the questions I was asked. They wanted to know that I had made alot of effort in losing weight before deciding on surgery. If losing 20 pounds is what you need to do to get to the next level, I say Drive On!
Good Luck to you

If this can help you lose what you need to lose to be eligible for wls, then great! I used it and lost about 30 lbs, only to gain it all back. it is like anything else as far as diets go-a short term solution. I hope it works for and I wish you the very best luck in losing your 10% for the surgery! Big Hugs!

Been on nutri system
It does work for a short term scenario like what you are talking about. You can do it girl! Maybe my thinking is Machevellian, but sometimes the ends do justify the means, right?

I think many of us have been on Nutri system, Jenny Craig or something similar at some point and lost weight. I think they do work in the short term like what your needs are. Losing a tremendous amount of weight and keeping it off is where they fall short. They are balanced portion controlled meals. You are not going to harm yourself. I wish you luck and let us know how it goes.

Nutri System will do the job for you.
Your body will fight you at first. You need to be persistent, meaning don't allow yourself to become depressed and begin feeling defeated and start snacking.
Sit in a relaxing place, close your eyes and visualize your end results (your doctor giving you a date). Keep telling yourself, "I can do this. "
You CAN do it!

I was on Nutri-System many years ago and lost 65 lbs in about 5 months, but like every other program I tried, I gained it and more back when I stopped. This should be able to really help you get that 10% off so you can go ahead with your surgery. I wish you much success

I think this is a great use of that program! Do what you need to do to stay healthy (which these meals will be) and still lose what you need before the surgery. I went to an Optifast clinic a few years ago and they now have a program specifically for those people who are pre-op for wls and need to lose weight. I am sure Nutri System is a better thing for your body than Optifast.

No guff from me.........it doesn't sound to me like a bad way to get that 10% off. Make sure you keep receipts to use to prove one more thing you tried. Good luck!!

Just do it!
As Nike says just do it! I went on Nutri Systems years and years ago and lost about 80 lbs. If that is what you can do for now do it. Suzy
