Getting my blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol levels to normal without medication made it all worthwhile. I can't lie. The weight lose is very nice. But, the health benefits are so awesome!

My grandparents (they raised me) have both been insulin dependant diabetics for over 30 years so I know what a huge deal this is. Congrats!!!! I was on glucophage pre op now my sugar is always between 83-86 non fasting. I promise we won't get tired of you posting! We are here to share happy news, sad news, bad news, and regular everyday life stuff. Post your lil heart out!

Gina,

Same here. I had been on diabetic meds for about 6 years -- and then, within a week after my surgery, my blood sugar level dropped to 107 and has been there or lower ever since.

Congrats to both of us! We have a tool to live longer now!

It just amazes me what ONE WEEK post surgery can do for people's MO conditions - ONE WEEK! Amazing!

I have to take medicine for my wacky thyroid (that's the only medicine I take), and I will still have to take it after the GBP, but I don't care. I just want to be healthy with everything else!

Everything became worth the risks, occasionaly dumping, etc for me when I got to STOP insulin two weeks ago. I still am in shock everytime I check my blood sugar. I was running in the high 100-low 200 even with 4 shots a day. Now, NOTHING! It is AMAZING!

Great job to all of you for getting off of those meds. I will be joining you as soon as I get my date in getting off the meds I take for my high cholesterol, and I can't wait!!!!
