A letter would just be another thing they accidentally lose on purpose. If you feel like you can not assert yourself, take along someone you know who will.

I LOSE! The RULE of the medical group is that I have to complete my 6 mths of nutrition classes before I can even begin all the other testing. The original RC was bending the rules, but the new RC said she isn't going to and that I just have to wait.... Guess that's what I get for demanding some customer service.
Now that I am done crying (still REALLY pissed off), I just have to wait. This is going to take MONTHS AND MONTHS...I won't be having the flippin surgery until summer by the sounds of it. I am soooooo FRUSTRATED I am beginning to think this isn't worth it.

Are you kidding me chicken. You know this isnt easy, did you lose sight of that? What isnt worth it? Having surgery? Or having to deal with red tape? Having to wait? The time is going to pass anyways, you are just a couple steps closer to having the surgery than you were 5 months ago..... now your in duress? Come on chicken, in due time it will happen, til then ya have to play nice with all the kids in the sandbox of life, no matter how ya feel about them.
Ask your self this: Why do you want to have the surgery? Are those reasons worth it?
Ciao bella!

Wellllll...I dried my tears and called another Dr. in my group. Her receptionist was soooo sweet and connected me right over to the RC... I explained everything to the RC in this new office and she said NO PROBLEM, switch Dr.'s and we will get your testing going asap. I actually got a LIVE person, I am in awe. I called my insurance, changed Dr.'s and now I just have to go request the medical records from the old office...which scares me since God only knows how long that will take!

I'm glad you have things back on track now! I'm having a SERIOUS issue with the staff at my surgeons office. I adore him but they are all so damn rude I can't bear dealing with it anymore and I intend to tell him so when I go Dec 19th to see how my labs are. I referred a friend who was so upset by the staff she is having surgery 7 hours away from here instead of 45 min (she was already approved and finished with testing). I intend to tell him that I will be forced to have my labs done with my PCP (he has agreed to do it) if I am not treated significantly better by his staff from here on. I have been biting my tongue for a whole year now about their attitudes and I'm just not gonna take anymore BS off these folks. Sorry to ramble but I've hit my limit! Remember, the doc is YOUR employee!

Keep up the fight Cindy! I know it's disheartening, and awful having to wait and jump through hoops. But it WILL be worth it in the end.... things are going to work out... you'll see!

Cindy - I am glad to hear that you have people willing to work with you now - this is your health on the line, and you can only be your own advocate.
Cool sequay, huh?! Thanks, Carolyn for asking about my little firend at the office. I think I will buy her a dictionary and mark/highlight the word "advocate" for her benefit. I left her a message yesterday to follow up (hey! I gave her almost a whole week!), and have yet to receive a return call, so I will call again tomorrow.
On a nicer note - all of my testing will be complete by late Monday morning as I have four final tests this weekend (yipppeee).
Thanks for asking and following through...
