Default A message to all people concidering WLS...

I just wanted to come in here and say, If your concidering weight loss surgery think about it long and hard, I'm telling you right now its not the EASY way out.. This has been quite an emotional rollercoaster so far... But just look at your life now, I know i did.. my health was slowly on a deathly decline, Life doesnt have to mean allways being out of breath and being ridiculed by other people... I'm so thankful for the people on this board that gave me the strength to pull threw my surgery just fine and im' thankful for modern medicine that makes this surgery possible.. It's allready changing my life and I can't say it enough.... If you were like me, take a long hard look at yourself and see whats better.. Die a slow morbidly obese death at an early age... or take the risk of surgery and have a chance at a long healthy life, if I could do it all over again i would 20x even with the pain...Just thought ide throw that out there.. feel free anyone concidering surgery to contact me through e-mail or AIM or MSN.. its all on my profile and what not..

Amen brother! My feelings exactly! Now, if you would have asked the first 2-3 weeks, well, I was pretty miserable, but once you start seeing results and feeling better, it is so well worth it! I hope I feel the same about the TT!!!

I am @ the 3 week mark, and thank goodness I am feeling better. I was close to tears everytime a meal time presented itself. I actually had my food come back up for the first time yesterday and it was amazing how much better I felt instantly. I will have to become careful with that as I can see myself returning to my old bulimic tendancies in order to make myself feel better.

I am with you Casey. I knew what I was getting myself in to, but I wasnt ready for the day to day frustration and near tears over what I did to my body. Now that i have my upper body strength back and I am able to move around without near fainting I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

There is a lot more to it than just the physical recovery and I thank goodness every day for the people on this forum. I probably wouldnt feel so good right now if it werent for all of you.

*hugs*

Casey is really right on. Another thing that I am finding out is that is not a panacaea for weight loss. You don't just have the surgery and sit back and watch the pounds melt away. You have to be more discriminating with your eating than ever before. It is much more painful than people say. Eat the wrong food, or a good food too early in the recovery process, and punishment is SWIFT and DECISIVE. (I know all too well!!)
Keepin it real....

Talking Casey you are so right!

I have to concur with everyones feelings this has been an amazing road for me and it continues to be inspite of my medical issues right now that are happening nothing means more to me then having had that surgery and god letting me make it through with flying colors. I dont even remember the pain right after the surgery except all I went through pre-op with the HB Pressure, Knee, back and joint pain constantly getting worse, being out of breath walking up stairs or even just going for a walk, trying to bend over to tie my shoes and feeling all the blood rushing to my head like I was gonna pass out and not being able to lift my leg and have it stay on my leg to be able to tie my shoe. Life is so much more meaningful I am so much more outgoing have such a different prospective on what life and loved ones mean. Thanks to everyone here and what each and everyone of you do on a daily basis in offering your opinions giving advice and sharing intimate parts of your lives with all of us. Love everyone of ya.

I also agree with everyone, on what a great change the surgery has been on my life, I would do it over again if I had to. IT has been such a positive and I am 10 X's more energy than before.
