Question Dr. Callery's first seminar

I'm scheduled to attend Dr. Callery's educational seminar next week - the very first of his seminars that people need to attend in order to get the ball rolling.

I have a couple of questions: Are you required to get weighed in at this meeting - please God, please say no. I'd be totally embarassed to do that in front of MDH. How long does the seminar go?

I need to get mentally prepared.....thanks for the feedback!

No you dont weigh in there, but be prepared to be there for 2 1/2-3 hours! Bring a pillow and get there early to ensure you get one of the comfy chairs!

I remember getting weighed, but only the office staff saw and it was actually encouraging because it was good for me to be able to reassure myself i was doing the right thing by being there.

I also remember getting weighed, but only the office staff saw it. Remember why you are going, I'm sure they have seen all different weights.

Default Dr. C's First Seminar

I went to the same seminar about a month ago. It lasted for about 3 hours. It was such good information that the time went by fast for me. No one got weighed. Make sure you're on time though. They close the door and don't allow late arrivals. Also make sure you stay until the end because they will give you some paperwork to fill out at the end that you will need to return to them.

I have my first appointment tomorrow with Dr. Callery. I'm pretty excited. Does anyone know what happens at the first appointment?

The seminar is bery educational. Yes, you are supposed to get weighed. No one specifically calls you out...but you are to check in at the desk AND get weighed. This way they have record of you attending the meeting because it is required. No one but medical staff sees, no one wants to do it....but just look at it as your first step in the whole process. You will be embarassed many more times before this whole journey is over, trust me. It's ok, you can do it.

You'll probably meet with Kelly O'Neill. They give you your binder, you go over the info with them, of course you get weighed and they do your BMI and body fat percentage. Then you get a list of tests they need before you can be sent to insurance. Good luck, you'll do great.
