Default Bye y'all

Well, I just checked into this site and now I am checking out. I went to the doctor yesterday and he says if I have the GBS I will get too thin because I am not morbidly obese (even though he suggested this surgery a couple years ago). This is fine.

So, he gave me medication to control my appetite and expects to see me back to his office a few pounds lighter in 3-4 weeks.

In looking at my body composition I really only need to lose 50-60 lbs. So, a bypass may be overkill. I am thinking really more about the diabetes though.

At any rate, Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz I am tired and need a nap.

Good luck you all.

Nice to meet you Becky. There is great encouragement here and support. Stay focused and them pounds will come off. Hold on to getting rid of them medications as your motivation.

Good luck. With only 50-60 lbs, that doesn't qualify you for the surgery. Sorry if the doctor may have misled you. Perhaps he didn't realize the full scope of the surgery. Many physicians aren't throughly informed. The risks of surgery will far outweigh what 50-60 lbs is doing to you at the moment. Diabetes still exists, whether you're thin or not. Once you develop it, it doesn't go away. Weight aggrevates it. A loss will ease symptoms. I know many a thin diabetic. Weight loss is just a part of the solution. Weight loss can put the disease into a sort of remission from what I have seen.
