Everyone will have a different story, but I had surgery on a Wednesday, went home Thursday and was driving the kids to school and fending for myself on Friday. I will say that I could have definitely used some help getting up from a horizontal position for the first couple of weeks. I really had to work at it by myself and it sometimes hurt like a mother. I've heard that some people sleep in recliners and that helps quite a bit.

If you have someone who can help, take it! Best of luck to you... and congratulations!

Default Need A Good Suppor Team

I recommend definitely having a good support system in place (something I really didn't have). Just doing little things like bending to pick something up was a major hurdle for me. The nights were sometimes long, especially thinking I was becoming dehydrated and not having some one there to help alleviate and help w/those fears.

Yes have someone by your side as long as you can.

It all depends if your a "BRIDGET" or a "ROBIN" lmao!!!

BRIDGET= 2 young kids ages 5 abd 8 (at the time) back at work in one week, feel great, didnt take any pain meds-not even in the hospital.

ROBIN= mother with 2 young boys probably 7-10ish range and a total weanie when it comes to pain. Didnt venture upstairs for 3 days!!!

lmao!! I love Robin!

i loved having someone there to help me for the first week i didnt drive the kids to school or pick them up i took it real easy just walked around the pool a few times a day and enjoyed my first week home i didnt need pain med either but i really didnt push it - if i needed help out of the recliner i let someone else push it down for me as to not strain my insides or the new connection...i loved the first week home!
