After-care

My surgery will be early Dec in San Diego. I am a single woman with no family or close friends to help me out when I come home. I haven't even figured out how to get there and back yet. Is it likely that I will need to line up a home health worker for a few days for when I get home. ? Is there anyone who has beeen in this position and what did you do? If you hired someone, any suggestions. I live in Vista , CA.
