Default Surgery Monday - getting nervous

4 days from now I will be on the otherside myself - needless to say I am getting pretty nervous. I know I have made the right decision, however I have never been in the hospital before so there a lot of unknowns. Sbjims Hospital Experience thread in the general discussion catergory has helped to put me at ease (well a little at ease )

I also wanted to say that I have not posted much since joining here in March - but do visit the site at least twice a day and feel like I really know you guys and wanted to let you know that you sharing your experiences has really helped me in my journey so far - and am sure that will only continue in the future. Hopefully once I am on the otherside I can supply some valuable information as well.

Thanks Again

Welcome Tudge. Wish you posted more. Always good to talk it out and ask questions. We like to get to know people. GL on Monday! Try to keep yourself busy because it's about the only thing to keep you from freaking out.

T.J. it is normal to be nervous. I am sure once you get there you will be greated and treated in a way that will calm your nerves and make you feel at ease. Are you taking something that will occupy your mind while you are there? Maybe a book or like some suggested an Ipod? T.J. I think you will do just fine. Glad you decided to come out of Lurk-ville, and start posting again. My prayers are with you sweety. Hold On.

Don't worry, Tudge. They will take great care of you! I was in the same spot -- never been in the hospital before...but it was NOTHING like I'd imagined. Just be honest and open with the staff about how you feel, and they will take gooood care of you.

Welcome to this great new journey of your life!

Best of luck to you, you're going to do great! Maybe once you've recovered from the first week of surgery, you'll feel like doing some posting to let us know about your experience. Take care!
