Default Wow, things are moving!

After being stuck in limbo for 4 weeks between Dr. C and Dr. Mueller because of the SRS contract mess, I had a consult with Dr. Mueller yesterday.

I now have a Pre-Op date and a surgery date!
WhooHooo! It all happened so fast. After waiting so long it kind of stunned me that this was really going to happen.

Dr. Mueller says he is going to do it Lap, which is fine by me. But his assistant, Chanelle, says they only sign off for 3 weeks of disability. I'm a little concerned about that since I have read many posts about being off of work from 4 to 6 weeks.

I am very excited and I am very ready to start my loosing ways!

Initially they sign you out 3 weeks, and will re certify you after two if more time is needed. The reason why they do that is because they do your paperwork in advance where as a lot of doctors actually make you wait until the disability actually begins to receive benefits. i suppose that is because too many people take advantage.

John I think this is so great that most of SRS confussion is finally being cleared up. It is also good to know Dr. Mueller is getting you guys through this process fast. Big congrats on your moving Journey. John if you are still having problems after the 3 weeks then notify Dr. Mueller. But honestly when the procedure is done Lap the recovery time is shorter as opposed to open.

Denise,
How long were you out of work? I'm a database administrator and I sit most of the day, so I'm hoping that I can start back after 3 weeks

You won't know until you get there. It's impossible to know in advance how you will feel and how you will do. My friend had the surgery, was scheduled for 3 weeks off. She had some unexpected complications and ended up out for 3 months. She was young and in otherwise good health, no major co-morbidities. You just never know. Things just happen. Even if you do well, you don't know how your energy level will be.
