Default Done with Pre-op!

I just got home from a seemingly looong day of pre-op. But everything was great. The nurses were all great. And the hospital is warm and inviting; I've never been there. Annnd... I lost 15 lbs since my consult! My surgeon and I were both happy. The only bad thing was the blood work. I've always had a hard time with the lab work, but today was exceptionally bad! they even had to bring in back-up. Blood was eventually, successfully drawn from my upper arm. A lot less painful than last time (the wrist )

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Tuesday will be here soon! Can't wait!

Wow big Congrats on the 15 pounds gone forever. This is a great way to start your Journey on the other side. I am glad everything went well with the blood work. Wow Jared doesn't it feel even more real now that you have had your pre-op visit. Sorry just re-living my Journey. I am happy for you Jared. I know you are so ready.

Glad things are going well. I had to have an IV in my upper arm and I was kinda freaked out. Turns out it was the best place to have one for me. It's out of the way and you can move a little more freely. Try to remember where they have been successful before so you can point them in the right direction next time. It'll help cut down on the amount of sticks you have to go through!

Congratulations, Jared! I bet you are excited with the progress of things. I REFUSE to let them try to take blood out of the veins in my arms - they are never successful on the first 1-3 tries. I make them use something called a butterfly and have them take it out of the vein in my hand. It is much less traumatic and a lot faster. I used to get sick at the thought of having blood drawn before someone suggested trying this.

Great job on the 15 lbs. You'll do great on the 25th.

Thanks, you guys! I'm approaching my last pre-WLS weekend.

ha ha... I know that sounds dumb, but everytime I do any little thing, in the back of my mind I'm thinking "this is the last time I'll do this before I'm a completely different person".

4 more days

Best of luck to you Jared!

You will do great! I salute you for losing 15 lbs. preop. I have been so busy saying good by to the foods I know will never work for me again, I fear that I may have gained.

I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday, hope everything goes easy as pie.
