Going without food...
This is the second day without eating. I have to be food free for three days prior to surgery. Surgery is on Monday. I am having such a hard time with this, Im cranky and headachey. I just keep saying that this is all for the greater good and it wont last forever.
Any hints on getting through the next day and a half?
Hope

If it was me, I would go shopping and wander around the malls to keep my mind somewhere else. That always works for me. Hang in there...it is all so worth it in the end. Hopefully, you can have liquids???

You poor dear! I only had to go one day. I wish I had a good answer. Try to stay busy and don't watch TV. There are like 60 food commercials an hour or more. That will drive you nuts. Go visit a friend, see if there are any local events going on you can go to, play a board game, sleep a lot. Sorry I'm not much help!

Wow three days that is a lot. I only had to do one. I would do crafts or something to keep your hand busy. Scrapbooking, painting anything you can wrap yourself up in. I would be bitchy too though

Wow, the vareity in surgeon's methods. I only had to go 8 hours without food or water. Up to then, allowed food, just not heavy meals. Makes me glad I had the surgeon I had. Plus, you still are on liquids only after surgery. Time to find a new hobby to keep your mind busy.

My MD is making me go 5 days of clr. liquids. So starting 10/19 I am going to be a bear. I would stay far away. The best part is I don't have to have any time of enema or bowl cleansing b/c the fluid would have pushed everything out.
UGGG
Oh well, I will be ok.

Oh MAN five days????!!!!! I tried to sleep alot to pass the time of thinking about it. I actually wonder how much of my anxiety and "hunger" was just do to the fact that I would normally be eating and couldnt. There were times when I was in fact hungry, but other times it would be a normal time when I would eat. The start to my weight loss, I lost 4 pounds. Jello, jello and jello. Also I went to a restaurant and bought some albondigas soup and brought it home and just had the broth, it was much better than any of the canned brothes I got at the store.
Good luck!
Hope
