Default Should I have seen the doctor???

I almost feel foolish for asking this . . . after the fact . . .however, I had my initial consult last Thursday (my doctor is Callery). I did not actually meet with him; rather had a lenghthy discussion with Kelly and went through the "business" stuff with the office manager. I got the list of tests I need to have done . . . but when do I meet the good doctor???

Default Doctor

I met him at my pre-op appt. The one just before I was scheduled to go into the hosiptal. Any other appt has been with Kelly even all my post-op appt's.

No worries, you'll meet the "big man." Alot of people prefer Potts becuz you have more one on one time with him rather than a PA. You'll see him at your pre op, and that appt will be short and sweet!

Best wishes!

The good Dr. is just that...so good he farms out the non surgical stuff and saves his precious time for the surgeries. Don't take it personally, but on occasion I have met with him at length and he is truly wonderful!!!

Default Inaccessible Doctors

I couldn't possible commit myself to a surgical procedure and jump thru all the hoops before I had met the doctor and decided for myself if she/he and I could work as a team, and if our styles meshed and if I trusted his skill, compassion and bedside manner. I found a surgeon with a very hands on approach-who doesn't have an insulating layer of assistants that keep him from having to deal with the nuts and bolts of patient care. And no, a NP, however good she is and whatever her scope of practice is, is not a doctor. She may be able to handle routine stuff, but I want access to my DOCTOR if I need it.

Default You might be able to help

Can anyone tell me who referred you to Callery/Potts office. I am having such a hard time finding a PCP that is open to this type of surgery.

I am moving to Carlsbad in a few weeks and want to try one more time.

Any suggestions on a PCP who has referred you to Callery/Potts office

Thank you!!!!!

Patty Shih w/ Sharp Reese Stealy in Rancho Bernardo referred me. It was my first time meeting her, and I went in there specifically for that. Soon as she walked in I told her I was there for a referral to Dr. C. Hope this helps some.
