Question My Surgery Is Tommorrow...please Help

Hello everyone, I am a new member but have been reading your posts, and you guys are awesome the advice, everything about this forum is wonderful. I am so glad I was able to join.

I have a dilemma, my surgery date is on the 7th of Sept... yes! on Wednesday and I got my days mixed up and had a big meal yesterday Monday instead of starting the liquid diet like I was suppossed to.
Now I only have one day (today) to do the liquid diet. Should I reschedule? I really don't want to but don't want anything going wrong either.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Please advice.

Thank you so much

OK Astrid this might not be a set back. I honestly think the best thing would to be to call yor surgeons office to find out. There are different reasons why surgeons don't want you to eat a couple of days prior. I do know some people don't stop eatng until the day before there surgery. So there may be hope that your re-birthday will still be Sept. 7. Good luck.

Oh, thanks for your advice, and for giving me some hope... but you are definately right I better check with my surgeon, I am afraid he will not be to pleased if he has to reschedule.

I agree with Bypassingme, I have heard some posters say they don't even go on a liquid diet before surgery. My dr. has prescribed one for a week prior to surgery so the liver and organs 'shrink up' and it's easier to get to the stomach. I'm not sure what effect one meal will have. Keep us posted!

Astrid,

I don't know if you've had a chance to call your surgeon yet. My surgery is tomorrow.........I was not on a liquid diet until today. I went to Red Lobster last night and had a nice meal. I doubt it is dangerous.......I am going to the best surgeons and facility around. I sure hope they don't delay you! Good luck.
